How the Gimquat Found Her Song is one of Platypus Theatre’s most beloved family concerts. Platypus Theatre and the Toronto Symphony thought about all the children and families in remote communities who would be inspired and entertained by this show but were unlikely to attend. They came up with a solution. Using live footage of the Gimquat show, in concert with the TSO, plus some beautiful animation, they created a video that was then distributed to school districts throughout northern Ontario. Connexionarts developed a Study Guide to accompany the video, complete with lessons and strategies linked to music and language arts expectations. The whole kit was well-received and appreciated by those schools and students. Some exciting news now is that video is now available through Platypus Theatre to rent or own.
