The Connexionarts team has more than 100 years combined experience as educators, authors, performers, presenters, and directors. Our diversity of talent and creativity enables us to develop resource models and products that are individualized and responsive to your needs. We are skilled in educational applications of current technology and experienced in the use of curriculum planning software. Our school projects access state or district content standard through a curriculum mapping process, and are supported with a variety of assessment opportunities.

Alison Kenny-Gardhouse
Alison Kenny-Gardhouse creates inspiring, experiential community-based arts programming throughout North America. As founder and president of Connexionarts, an arts-in-education consulting firm, Alison is a leader when it comes to the development of education models, teacher and artist training, and creating arts-based educational resources. She is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Catherine West
Catherine West has an international reputation as an arts consultant, author, workshop clinician, and course instructor. As Senior Associate of Connexionarts, she has worked with numerous Connexionarts clients including the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Tafelmusik, the GRAMMY’s Leonard Bernstein Foundation, and Opera Lyra (Ottawa).

Doug Friesen
Doug Friesen is currently an Assistant Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Music Education and Community Music and has extensive public school classroom and consultant experience. He recently completed a PhD focused on sound and listening pedagogies, emphasizing critical practitioner research and collaborative inquiry. He has guided teachers, students, musicians, and other interested individuals across Canada and Latin America in utilizing listening and sound to foster creativity and build community.

Dr. Sue Snyder
Dr. Susan R. Snyder is the president of IDEAS (Inventive Designs for Education and the ArtS). She has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, and is an author of numerous publications, including the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill's Music and You series. She is the coordinating author of Share the Music; contributing author of Glencoe's Choral Connections; and an author/publisher of Integrate with Integrity: Music Across the Curriculum and ArtSmart: Arts Activities for Classroom Teachers.
