Leonard Bernstein’s teaching philosophy was “that the best way to ‘know’ a thing is in the context of another discipline. Founded in 1992, the Leonard Bernstein Center for Learning (LBC) is preserving and implementing Bernstein’s educational vision through its groundbreaking “Artful Learning” program, which is revolutionizing the classroom learning environment.

Connexionarts has been consultant to the LBC since 2001, leading the design of six Artful Learning publications for artist, teacher and leadership training, and developing extensive professional learning resources for use in schools across America. Artful Learning’s capacity to adapt and grow during this time reflects how highly responsive the model is, and speaks directly to Leonard Bernstein’s vision. Connexionarts continues to provide consulting services to LBC, focusing on adapting and creating new digital resources.
