4 Square

Connexionarts co-wrote the Season 3 Rhythm segment of 4 Square, the highly popular Canadian children’s television show. Focused on preschool ages, the Rhythm “square” (the other three squares being movement, song and poetry) uses speech with body percussion and storytelling. The rhythm of words combine in patterns to create surprisingly complex sound layers that are fun and accessible for early learners. Teachers find this approach helpful for vocabulary building as it offers repetition in a lively and engaging way. 4 Square ran for over a decade on Treehouse TV and reached thousands of households.
